stereo painting details done in gouache and acrylic

Heather Lowe has painted stereo imagery on and off since the year 2000. Here are some examples of her stereo paintings. Most of them are painted with gouache on mounted board. A new canvas painting done this year (2026) will be exhibited in May. Vladimir Nabokov once said great art is done with the passion of a scientist and the precision of an artist. Each shape has to be placed with care on the surface plane to create the 3d effect.

These are seen by combining the panels with your eyes to create one image out of the two.
